Building actively burning at Sugar Mill property near Longmont

A structure fire broke out just after midnight on March 25, 2025, at a building on the Sugarmill property in Boulder County. Fire crews from Mountain View and Longmont found the two-story building fully engulfed. Due to hazardous conditions, the fire will burn overnight. Authorities are monitoring the scene, with Sugarmill Road closed. The cause remains unknown.

On March 25, 2025 just after midnight, the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office received reports of a structure fire at a building located on the Sugar mill property in the 11900 block of Sugar mill Rd. in Boulder County.

Fire apparatus from the Mountain View Fire Department and Longmont Fire Department responded and found a two story building fully engulfed on the property. Personnel from the Longmont Police Department and Boulder County Sheriff’s Office also responded. Due to hazardous materials and conditions, fire personnel will not be actively fighting the fire and it will burn throughout the night.

Personnel from the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office and Longmont Fire Department will remain on scene monitoring the fire. Sugarmill Road is closed and individuals are encouraged to stay away from the area.

At this time, the cause of the fire is unknown. Further investigative resources will be consulted during the daytime.
