Corn remains to be harvested in Ukraine from 22% of the area

Ukraine has harvested nearly 54 million tons of grains and oilseeds from 91% of planned areas. Corn, soybeans, sunflower, and sugar beet harvests are almost complete, with strong yields in western regions. Zaporizhzhya and Khmelnytsky have finished harvesting, while others approach completion as yields remain above national averages.

As of December 5, 2025, Ukraine is nearing the end of harvesting late crops. Grains and pulses have been harvested on an area of 10.551 mln ha, which is 91% of the forecast. Almost 54 mln tons of grain were harvested with an average yield of 5.08 t/ha.

This is evidenced by the operational data of the Ministry of Economy.

The total amount of grain harvested is as follows:

  • corn – 23.5 mln tons from an area of 3.44 mln ha (78%);
  • soybeans – 4.743 mln tons from an area of 2 mln ha (97%);
  • sunflower seeds – 9.041 mln tons from an area of 4.8 mln ha (93%);
  • sugar beets – 10.397 mln tons from an area of 195 thsd ha (98%).

Zaporizhzhya and Khmelnytsky regions have completed the harvesting campaign, while Odesa, Mykolaiv and Vinnytsia regions are nearing the end of the harvesting season.

The highest average corn yields were recorded in the following regions:

  • Khmelnytsky region – 10.5 t/ha;
  • Lviv region – 9.2 t/ha;
  • Kyiv region – 9.1 t/ha.

The highest soybean yields were recorded:

  • Lviv region – 3.1 t/ha;
  • in Khmelnytsky region – 3 t/ha;
  • in Volyn and Ternopil regions – 2.9 t/ha.

The highest yields were recorded for sunflower:

  • 3.2 t/ha in Vinnytsia region;
  • in Volyn and Khmelnytsky regions – 3 t/ha.

The highest yields of sugar beet:

  • Bukovyna – 78 t/ha;
  • Ternopil region – 70 t/ha;
  • Volyn – 65 t/ha.
