Dues of cane growers to be cleared in a wk: Min

he Uttar Pradesh government plans to ensure that sugarcane growers receive their payments within a week. Sugarcane Minister Chaudhary Laxmi Narain Singh announced that 21 sugar mills have already cleared dues within 3 to 7 days this year. Since the end of the cane crushing season in May, 83 mills have settled 100% of their payments. Singh aims for full cooperation so that by next year, all dues will be paid within one week.
