Egypt will refuse to import grain from the occupied territories of Ukraine, — Zelensky
Egypt will stop accepting Russian grain from occupied Ukrainian territories, strengthening ties with Ukraine. Following talks between Volodymyr Zelensky and Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, Egypt also signaled plans to boost Ukrainian grain imports and expand bilateral cooperation.
Egypt will no longer accept grain exported by Russia from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelensky following a conversation with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.
According to Zelensky, Egypt is also interested in increasing imports of Ukrainian grain and has already expressed its readiness to expand cooperation with Ukraine in the agricultural sector. The Ukrainian president thanked for the relevant decision and stressed the importance of developing bilateral economic relations.
During the conversation, the parties also discussed the situation in the Middle East and the Gulf region, in particular its impact on the global oil market. The Ukrainian side informed about contacts and agreements with the countries of the region.
The potential for military-technical cooperation between Ukraine and Egypt was discussed separately. Kyiv stated its readiness to develop partnership in this area.
The parties also agreed on further contacts at the level of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs to work out all areas of cooperation.
