EIA: Ethanol Production Down 1%, Stocks Down 1%, Exports Down 5%
U.S. Fuel Ethanol Production and Exports Decline
Washington, June 26, 2024: U.S. fuel ethanol production fell by 1% to 1.043 million barrels per day for the week ending June 21, down 14,000 barrels from the previous week, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration. Ethanol stocks decreased to 23.423 million barrels, a 1% drop. Exports fell by 5% to 72,000 barrels per day. Compared to the same week last year, exports were down 32,000 barrels per day.
U.S. fuel ethanol production fell by 1% the week ending June 21, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration on June 26. Ethanol stocks were also down approximately 1%, with exports down 5%.
Fuel ethanol production averaged 1.043 million barrels per day the week ending June 21, down 14,000 barrels per day when compared to the 1.057 million barrels per day of production reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, production for the week ending June 21 was down 9,000 barrels per day.
Weekly ending stocks of fuel ethanol fell to 23.423 million barrels the week ending June 21, down 194,000 barrels when compared to the 23.617 million barrels of stocks reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, stocks for the week ending June 21 were up 444,000 barrels.
Exports of fuel ethanol averaged 72,000 barrels per day the week ending June 21, down 4,000 barrels per day when compared to the 76,000 barrels per day of exports reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, exports for the week ending June 21 were down 32,000 barrels per day. No fuel ethanol imports were reported for the week ending June 21.
