EIA: Ethanol production down 1%, stocks up 4%, exports down 19%
U.S. fuel ethanol production declined 1% to 1.095 million barrels per day (bpd) for the week ending Jan. 10, 2025, while stocks rose 4% to 25.008 million barrels. Exports dropped 19% to 125,000 bpd. Compared to last year, production increased by 41,000 bpd, and exports were up by 30,000 bpd, with no imports reported.

U.S. fuel ethanol production was down approximately 1% the week ending Jan. 10, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration on Jan. 15. Ending stocks of fuel ethanol were up 4% and exports were down 19%.
Fuel ethanol production averaged 1.095 million barrels per day the week ending Jan. 10, down 7,000 barrels per day when compared to the 1.102 million barrels per day of production reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, production for the week ending Jan. 10 was up 41,000 barrels per day.
Weekly ending stocks of fuel ethanol expanded to 25.008 million barrels the week ending Jan. 10, up 860,000 barrels when compared to the 24.148 million barrels of stocks reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, stocks for the week ending Jan. 10 were down 687,000 barrels.
Exports of fuel ethanol averaged 125,000 barrels per day the week ending Jan. 10, down 30,000 barrels when compared to the 155,000 barrels per day of exports reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, exports for the week ending Jan. 10 were up 30,000 barrels per day. No imports of fuel ethanol were reported for the week ending Jan. 10.
