EIA: Ethanol production down 2%, stock down slightly, exports up 77%
U.S. fuel ethanol production decreased by over 2% to 1.071 million barrels per day for the week ending August 23, a drop of 27,000 barrels from the previous week. However, production was up by 64,000 barrels compared to the same week last year. Fuel ethanol stocks slightly decreased to 23.572 million barrels, while exports surged by 77% to 145,000 barrels per day. No fuel ethanol imports were recorded.
U.S. fuel ethanol production declined by more than 2% the week ending Aug. 23, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration. Stocks of fuel ethanol were down slightly, while exports were up 77%.
Fuel ethanol production averaged 1.071 million barrels per day the week ending Aug. 23, down 27,000 barrels per day when compared to the 1.098 million barrels per day of production reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, production for the week ending Aug. 23 was up 64,000 barrels per day.
Weekly ending stocks of fuel ethanol were at 23.572 million barrels the week ending Aug. 23, down 2,000 barrels when compared to the 23.574 million barrels of stocks reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, stocks for the week ending Aug. 23 were up 1.963 million barrels.
Exports of fuel ethanol averaged 145,000 barrels per day the week ending Aug. 23, up 63,000 barrels per day when compared to the 82,000 barrels per day of exports reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, exports for the week ending Aug. 23 were up 76,000 barrels per day. No fuel ethanol imports were reported for the week ending Aug. 23.
