EIA: Ethanol production down 4%, stocks down 1%, exports up 262%.
U.S. fuel ethanol production decreased nearly 4% to 1.067 million barrels per day for the week ending Aug. 2, down from the previous week’s record high of 1.109 million barrels per day. Ethanol stocks fell by 1% to 23.767 million barrels. However, ethanol exports surged by over 262%, averaging 210,000 barrels per day, compared to 58,000 barrels per day the previous week. There were no reported ethanol imports for this period.
U.S. fuel ethanol production fell nearly 4% the week ending Aug. 2, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration on Aug. 7. Ethanol stocks were down 1% and exports were up more than 262%.
Fuel ethanol production averaged 1.067 million barrels per day the week ending Aug. 2, down 42,000 barrels per day when compared to the previous week’s record high production of 1.109 million barrels per day. When compared to the same week of last year, production for the week ending Aug. 2 was up 44,000 barrels per day.
Weekly ending stocks of fuel ethanol fell to 23.767 million barrels the week ending Aug. 2, down 206,000 barrels when compared to the 23.973 million barrels of stocks reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, stocks for the week ending Aug. 2 were up 887,000 barrels
Exports of fuel ethanol averaged 210,000 barrels per day the week ending Aug. 2, up 152,000 barrels per day when compared to the 58,000 barrels per day of exports reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, ethanol exports for the week ending Aug. 2 were up 141,000 barrels per day. No ethanol imports were reported for the week ending Aug. 2.
