EIA: Ethanol production down 8%, stocks down 1%, exports up 6%

U.S. fuel ethanol production decreased by nearly 8% in the week ending January 24, averaging 1.015 million barrels per day, down 84,000 barrels from the previous week. However, production was up 24,000 barrels per day compared to the same week last year. Ethanol stocks dropped slightly to 25.722 million barrels, while exports increased by 6%, averaging 179,000 barrels per day. No imports were reported for the week.

US. Fuel ethanol production fell by nearly 8% the week ending Jan. 24, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration on Jan. 29. Stocks of fuel ethanol were down nearly 1% and exports were up 6%. 

Fuel ethanol production averaged 1.015 million barrels per day the week ending Jan. 24, down 84,000 barrels per day when compared to the 1.099 million barrels per day of production reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, production for the week ending Jan. 24 was up 24,000 barrels per day. 

Weekly ending stocks of fuel ethanol fell to 25.722 million barrels per day the week ending Jan. 24, down 152,000 barrels when compared to the 25.874 million barrels of stocks reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, stocks for the week ending Jan. 24 were up 1.452 million barrels. 

Exports of fuel ethanol averaged 179,000 barrels per day the week ending Jan. 24, up 10,000 barrels per day when compared the 169,000 barrels per day of exports reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, exports for the week ending Jan. 24 were up 42,000 barrels per day. No imports of fuel ethanol were reported for the week ending Jan. 24.
