EIA: Ethanol Production Unchanged, Stocks Down 1%
U.S. fuel ethanol production for the week ending Sept. 29 was unchanged when compared to the previous week, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration on Oct. 4. Stocks were down 1 percent and exports were up 58 percent.
Fuel ethanol production averaged 1.009 million barrels per day the week ending Sept. 29, unchanged with the prior week. When compared to the same week of last year, production for the week ending Sept. 29 was up 120,000 barrels per day.
Stocks of fuel ethanol fell to 21.884 million barrels the week ending Sept. 29, down 164,000 barrels when compared to the 22.048 million barrels of stocks reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, stocks for the week ending Sept. 29 were up 199,000 barrels.
Exports of fuel ethanol averaged 122,000 barrels per day the week ending Sept. 29, up 45,000 barrels per day when compared to the 77,000 barrels per day of exports reported for the previous week. Data on weekly ethanol exports is not available for the corresponding week of 2022 as the EIA began reporting weekly data on fuel ethanol exports in June 2023. No fuel ethanol imports were reported for the week ending Sept. 29.
