EIA: Ethanol production up 10%, stocks up 3%, exports down 41%

U.S. fuel ethanol production rose nearly 10% to 1.112 million barrels per day for the week ending Jan. 31. Weekly stocks increased by 3% to 26.412 million barrels, while exports dropped 41% to 106,000 barrels per day. Compared to last year, production and stocks were higher, but exports showed a sharp weekly decline.
U.S. fuel ethanol production was up nearly 10% the week ending Jan. 31, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration on Feb. 5. Weekly ending stocks of fuel ethanol were up 3% and exports were down 41%.
Fuel ethanol production averaged 1.112 million barrels per day the week ending Jan. 31, up 97,000 barrels per day when compared to the 1.015 million barrels per day of exports reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, production for the week ending Jan. 31 was up 79,000 barrels per day.
Weekly ending stocks of fuel ethanol reached 26.412 million barrels the week ending Jan. 31, up 690,000 barrels when compared to the 25.722 million barrels of stocks reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, stocks for the week ending Jan. 31 were up 1.633 million barrels.
Fuel ethanol exports averaged 106,000 barrels per day the week ending Jan. 31, down 73,000 barrels per day when compared to the 179,000 barrels per day of exports reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, exports for the week ending Jan. 31 were up 28,000 barrels per day. No fuel ethanol exports were reported for the week ending Jan. 31.
