EIA: Ethanol production up 2%, stocks up 1%, exports up 15%
For the week ending August 16, U.S. fuel ethanol production increased by over 2% to 1.098 million barrels per day, up from 1.072 million barrels the previous week and 50,000 barrels higher than the same week last year. Stocks rose nearly 1% to 23.574 million barrels, up 784,000 barrels year-on-year. Exports averaged 82,000 barrels per day, a 15% rise from the previous week but down 12,000 barrels compared to last year. No fuel ethanol imports were reported.
U.S. fuel ethanol production expanded by more than 2% the week ending Aug. 16, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration on Aug. 21. Stocks of fuel ethanol were up nearly 1% and exports were up more than 15%.
Fuel ethanol production averaged 1.098 million barrels per day the week ending Aug. 16, up 17,000 barrels per day when compared to the 1.072 million barrels of production reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, production for the week ending Aug. 16 was up 50,000 barrels per day.
Weekly ending stocks of fuel ethanol reached 23.574 million barrels the week ending Aug. 16, up 220,000 barrels per day when compared to the 23.354 million barrels of stocks reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, stocks for the week ending Aug. 16 were up 784,000 barrels.
Exports of fuel ethanol averaged 82,000 barrels per day the week ending Aug. 16, up 11,000 barrels per day when compared to the 71,000 barrels per day of exports reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, exports for the week ending Aug. 16 were down 12,000 barrels per day. No fuel ethanol imports were reported for the week ending Aug. 16.
