EIA: Ethanol production up 4%, stocks down 3%, exports down 31%


U.S. fuel ethanol production increased by 4% in the week ending March 14, averaging 1.105 million barrels per day, up 43,000 barrels from the previous week. However, ethanol stocks fell 3%, dropping to 26.575 million barrels. Exports saw a significant decline of 31%, averaging 111,000 barrels per day, down 51,000 barrels from the prior week.
U.S. fuel ethanol production expanded by 4% the week ending March 14, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration on March 19. Stocks of fuel ethanol were down 3% and exports were down 31%.
Fuel ethanol production averaged 1.105 million barrels per day the week ending March 14, up 43,000 barrels per day when compared to the 1.062 million barrels of production reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, production for the week ending March 14 was up 59,000 barrels per day.
Weekly ending stocks of fuel ethanol fell to 26.575 million barrels the week ending March 14, down 801,000 barrels when compared to the 27.376 million barrels of stocks reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, stocks for the week ending March 14 were up 566,000 barrels.
Exports of fuel ethanol averaged 111,000 barrels per day the week ending March 14, down 51,000 barrels per day when compared to the 162,000 barrels per day of exports reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, exports for the week ending March 14 were down 23,000 barrels per day. No imports of fuel ethanol were reported for the week ending March 14.
