EIA: Ethanol Production Up 4%, Stocks Up 1%, Exports Down 49%
U.S. fuel ethanol production rose by almost 4% in the week ending May 10, per U.S. Energy Information Administration data released on May 15. Stocks increased by 1%, but exports dropped by 49%. Production averaged 1 million barrels per day, up 35,000 barrels compared to the previous week and 13,000 barrels compared to last year. Ending stocks reached 24.489 million barrels, up 289,000 barrels from the previous week and 1.298 million barrels from last year.
U.S. fuel ethanol production was up nearly 4% the week ending May 10, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration on May 15. Stocks of fuel ethanol were up 1% and exports were down 49%.
Ethanol production averaged 1 million barrels per day the week ending May 10, up 35,000 barrels per day when compared to the 965,000 barrels per day of production reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, production for the week ending May 10 was up 13,000 barrels per day.
Weekly ending stocks of fuel ethanol reached 24.489 million barrels the week ending May 10, up 289,000 barrels when compared to the 24.2 million barrels of stocks reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, stocks for the week ending May 10 were up 1.298 million barrels.
Exports of fuel ethanol averaged 92,000 barrels per day the week ending May 10, down 88,000 barrels per day when compared to the 180,000 barrels per day of exports reported for the previous week. Data on weekly ethanol exports is not available for the corresponding week of 2023 as the EIA began reporting weekly data on fuel ethanol exports in June 2023. No fuel ethanol imports were reported for the week ending May 10.
