EIA: Ethanol production up 4%, stocks up 2%, exports up 95%

U.S. fuel ethanol production increased by 4% the week ending Sept. 6, averaging 1.08 million barrels per day, up 19,000 barrels from the previous week. Ethanol stocks rose by 2% to 23.714 million barrels, while exports surged 95% to 177,000 barrels per day. Compared to the same week last year, production and stocks saw significant increases.

U.S. fuel ethanol production was up 4% the week ending Sept. 6, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration on Sept. 11. Stocks of fuel ethanol were up nearly 2% and exports were up 95%. 

Fuel ethanol production averaged 1.08 million barrels per day the week ending Sept. 6, up 19,000 barrels per day when compared to the 1.061 million barrels per day of production reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, production for the week ending Sept. 6 was up 41,000 barrels per day. 

Stocks of fuel ethanol reached 23.714 million barrels the week ending Sept. 6, up 360,000 barrels when compared to the 23.354 million barrels of stocks reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, stocks for the week ending Sept. 6 were up 2.543 million barrels. 

Ethanol exports averaged 177,000 barrels per day the week ending Sept. 6, up 86,000 barrels per day when compared to the 91,000 barrels per day of exports reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, exports for the week ending Sept. 6 were up 109,000 barrels per day. No fuel ethanol imports were reported for the week ending Sept. 6.
