EIA: Ethanol Production Up 5%, Stocks Down 4%, Exports Up 155%
U.S. fuel ethanol production rose 5% to 1.068 million barrels per day the week ending May 24, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration. Ethanol stocks decreased by 4% to 23.207 million barrels, and exports surged by 155% to 212,000 barrels per day. Compared to last year, production increased by 64,000 barrels per day, and exports rose by 158,000 barrels per day. No fuel ethanol imports were reported for the week.
U.S. fuel ethanol production was up 5% the week ending May 24, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration on May 30. Ethanol stocks fell by more than 4% and exports expanded by more than 155%.
Fuel ethanol production averaged 1.068 million barrels per day the week ending May 24, up 49,000 barrels per day when compared to the 1.019 million barrels per day of production reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, production for the week ending May 24 was up 64,000 barrels per day.
Weekly ending stocks of fuel ethanol fell to 23.207 million barrels the week ending May 24, down 1.005 million barrels when compared to the 24.212 million barrels of stocks reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, stocks for the week ending May 24 were up 875,000 barrels.
Exports of fuel ethanol averaged 212,000 barrels per day the week ending May 24, up 129,000 barrels per day when compared to the 83,000 barrels per day of exports reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of 2023, fuel ethanol exports were up 158,000 barrels per day. No fuel ethanol imports were reported for the week ending May 24.
