EIA: Fuel ethanol production up 3%, stocks down 6%, exports up 38%

U.S. fuel ethanol production increased over 3% for the week ending October 4, averaging 1.038 million barrels per day. Ethanol stocks fell nearly 6% to 22.154 million barrels, while exports rose by 38%, averaging 141,000 barrels per day. Compared to the same week last year, production was up 34,000 barrels per day, and exports increased by 21,000 barrels per day. No fuel ethanol imports were reported during this period.

U.S. fuel ethanol production was up more than 3% the week ending Oct. 4, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration on Oct. 9. Ethanol stocks were down nearly 6% and exports were up 38%. 

Fuel ethanol fuel production averaged 1.038 million barrels per day the week ending Oct. 4, up 23,000 barrels per day when compared to the 1.015 million barrels per day of production reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, production for the week ending Oct. 4 was up 34,000 barrels per day. 

Weekly ending stocks of fuel ethanol fell to 22.154 million barrels the week ending Oct. 4, down 1.305 million barrels when compared to the 23.549 million barrels of stocks reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, stocks for the week ending Oct. 4 were down 628,000 barrels. 

Weekly exports of fuel ethanol averaged 141,000 barrels per day the week ending Oct. 4, up 39,000 barrels per day when compared to the 102,000 barrels per day of exports reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, exports for the week ending Oct. 4 were up 21,000 barrels per day. No fuel ethanol imports were reported for the week ending Oct. 4.
