EIA weekly data: Ethanol production down 2%, stocks up 3%, exports up 54%

U.S. fuel ethanol output slipped nearly 2% to 1.095 million bpd in the week ended Feb. 27, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration. Stocks rose 3% to 26.34 million barrels, while exports surged 54% week-on-week. No ethanol imports were recorded during the period.

U.S. fuel ethanol production fell nearly 2% the week ending Feb. 27, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration on March 4. Stocks of fuel ethanol were up 3% and exports expanded by 54%. 

Fuel ethanol production averaged 1.095 million barrels per day the week ending Feb. 27, down 18,000 barrels per day when compared to the 1.113 million barrels per day of production reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, production for the week ending Feb. 27 was up 2,000 barrels per day. 

Weekly ending stocks of fuel ethanol reached 26.337 million barrels the week ending Feb. 27, up 691,000 barrels when compared to the 25.646 million barrels of stocks reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, stocks for the week ending Feb. 27 were down 952,000 barrels. 

Fuel ethanol exports expanded to 217,000 barrels per day the week ending Feb. 27, up 76,000 barrels per day when compared to the 141,000 barrels per day of exports reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, exports for the week ending Feb. 27 were up 94,000 barrels per day. No imports of fuel ethanol were reported for the week ending Feb. 27.
