EIA weekly data: Ethanol production down 3%, stocks up 4%, exports up 9%

U.S. fuel ethanol production slipped 3% to 1.024 million barrels per day in the week ending Sept. 19, the EIA reported. Stocks rose 4% to 23.46 million barrels, while exports climbed 9% to 112,000 barrels per day. Compared to last year, production and exports were higher, though stocks slightly lower.

U.S. fuel ethanol production fell by 3% the week ending Sept. 19, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration on Sept. 24. Stocks of fuel ethanol were up 4% and exports were up 9%. 

Ethanol production averaged 1.024 million barrels per day the week ending Sept. 19, down 31,000 barrels per day when compared to the 1.055 million barrels per day of production reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, production for the week ending Sept. 19 was up 30,000 barrels per day. 

Weekly ending stocks of fuel ethanol expanded to 23.456 million barrels the week ending Sept. 19, up 866,000 barrels when compared to the 22.602 million barrels of stocks reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, stocks for the week ending Sept. 19 were down 56,000 barrels.

Exports of fuel ethanol averaged 112,000 barrels per day the week ending Sept. 19, up 9,000 barrels per day when compared to the 103,000 barrels per day of exports reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, exports for the week ending Sept. 19 were up 25,000 barrels per day. No imports of fuel ethanol were reported for the week ending Sept. 19.
