EIA weekly data: Ethanol production up 1%, stocks down 5%, exports up 6%


U.S. fuel ethanol production rose 1% to 1.093 million barrels per day in the week ending Aug. 8, the EIA reported. Stocks fell nearly 5% to 22.65 million barrels, while exports increased 6% to 123,000 barrels per day. No ethanol imports were recorded during the week.
U.S. fuel ethanol production expanded by 1% the week ending Aug. 8, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration on Aug. 13. Stocks of fuel ethanol fell by nearly 5% and exports were up 6%.
Fuel ethanol production averaged 1.093 million barrels per day the week ending Aug. 8, up 12,000 barrels per day when compared to the 1.081 million barrels per day of production reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, production for the week ending Aug. 8 was up 21,000 barrels per day.
Weekly ending stocks of fuel ethanol fell to 22.649 million barrels the week ending Aug. 8, down 1.107 million barrels when compared to the 23.756 million barrels of stocks reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, stocks for the week ending Aug. 8 were down 705,000 barrels.
Exports of fuel ethanol averaged 123,000 barrels per day the week ending Aug. 8, up 7,000 barrels per day when compared to the 116,000 barrels per day of exports reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, exports for the week ending Aug. 8 were up 52,000 barrels per day. No imports of fuel ethanol were reported for the week ending Aug. 8.
