EIA weekly data: Ethanol production up 2%, stocks up 2%, exports down 32%

U.S. fuel ethanol production rose 2% to 1.12 million barrels per day for the week ending Dec. 26, according to the EIA. Ethanol stocks also increased 2% to 22.94 million barrels, while exports fell 32% to 148,000 barrels per day. No ethanol imports were reported during the week.

U.S. fuel ethanol production expanded by 2% the week ending Dec. 26, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration on Dec. 31. Stocks of ethanol were also up 2% while exports declined 32%. 

Fuel ethanol production averaged 1.12 million barrels per day the week ending Dec. 26, up 25,000 barrels per day when compared to the 1.095 million barrels per day of production reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week the previous year, production for the week ending Dec. 26 was up 9,000 barrels per day. 

Weekly ending stocks of fuel ethanol reached 22.944 million barrels the week ending Dec. 26, up 416,000 barrels when compared to the 22.528 million barrels of stocks reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of the previous year, stocks for the week ending Dec. 26 were down 695,000 barrels. 

Exports of fuel ethanol averaged 148,000 barrels per day the week ending Dec. 26, down 71,000 barrels per day when compared to the 219,000 barrels per day of exports reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of the previous year, exports of fuel ethanol were up 49,000 barrels per day. No imports of fuel ethanol were reported for the week ending Dec. 26.
