EIA weekly data: Ethanol production up 3%, stocks up 1%, exports up 36%

U.S. fuel ethanol production rose 3% to 1.105 million barrels per day for the week ending Sept. 5, according to the EIA. Stocks increased 1% to 22.837 million barrels, while exports surged 36% to 121,000 barrels per day. Compared to last year, production rose slightly, but stocks and exports were lower.

U.S. fuel ethanol production was up 3% the week ending Sept. 5, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration on Sept. 10. Stocks of fuel ethanol were up 1% and exports expanded by 36%. 

Fuel ethanol production averaged 1.105 million barrels per day the week ending Sept. 5, up 30,000 barrels per day when compared to the 1.075 million barrels per day of production reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, production for the week ending Sept. 5 was up 25,000 barrels per day. 

Weekly ending stocks of fuel ethanol reached 22.837 million barrels the week ending Sept. 5, up 273,000 barrels when compared to the 22.564 million barrels of stocks reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, stocks for the week ending Sept. 5 were down 877,000 barrels.

Exports of fuel ethanol averaged 121,000 barrels per day the week ending Sept. 5, up 32,000 barrels per day when compared to the 89,000 barrels per day of stocks reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, exports for the week ending Sept. 5 were down 56,000 barrels per day. No imports of fuel ethanol were reported for the week ending Sept. 5.
