EIA weekly data: Ethanol production up 5%, stocks up 1%, exports up 127%


U.S. fuel ethanol production rose nearly 5% to 1.105 million barrels per day for the week ending May 30, according to the EIA. Weekly stocks increased 1% to 24.44 million barrels, while exports surged 127% to 150,000 barrels per day. Compared to last year, production, stocks, and exports were all higher. No ethanol imports were recorded during the week.
U.S. fuel ethanol production was up nearly 5% the week ending May 30, according to data released by the U.S. Energy Information Administration on June 4. Weekly ending stocks of fuel ethanol were up 1% and exports were up 127%.
Fuel ethanol production averaged 1.105 million barrels per day the week ending May 30, up 59,000 barrels per day when compared to the 1.056 million barrels per day of production reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, production for the week ending May 30 was up 33,000 barrels per day.
Weekly ending stocks of fuel ethanol reached 24.44 million barrels the week ending May 30, up 159,000 barrels when compared to the 24.281 million barrels per day of stocks reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, stocks for the week ending May 30 were up 1.388 million barrels.
Exports of fuel ethanol averaged 150,000 barrels per day the week ending May 30, up 84,000 barrels per day when compared to the 66,000 barrels per day of exports reported for the previous week. When compared to the same week of last year, exports for the week ending May 30 were up 27,000 barrels per day. No imports of fuel ethanol were reported for the week ending May 30.
