Ethanol production increase Up by 5 per cent: EIA

In the week ending July 12, U.S. fuel ethanol production rose nearly 5% to 1.106 million barrels per day, nearing a record high. Ethanol stocks decreased by 443,000 barrels to 23.16 million barrels, slightly lower than the previous year. However, exports plummeted by 62% to 70,000 barrels per day compared to the previous week. There were no fuel ethanol imports reported. Production was just 2,000 barrels per day below the record set in December 2017.

According to data from the U.S. Energy Information Administration released on July 17, fuel ethanol production in the United States increased by nearly 5% in the week ending July 12, reaching a near-record high. Ethanol stocks decreased by 2%, while exports saw a decline of nearly 62%.

Production of fuel ethanol averaged 1.106 million barrels per day during the week ending July 12, which was an increase of 52,000 barrels per day compared to the previous week’s production of 1.054 million barrels per day. This figure is only 2,000 barrels per day below the current production record of 1.108 million barrels per day set in December 2017. Compared to the same week last year, production was up by 36,000 barrels per day.

Ethanol stocks for the week ending July 12 fell to 23.16 million barrels, a decrease of 443,000 barrels compared to the 23.603 million barrels reported the previous week. Stocks were down by 6,000 barrels compared to the same week last year.

Fuel ethanol exports were at 70,000 barrels per day during the week ending July 12, a decrease of 112,000 barrels per day compared to the 182,000 barrels per day exported the previous week. Exports were down by 16,000 barrels per day compared to the same week last year. There were no fuel ethanol imports reported for the week ending July 12.
