Exports highlight U.S. corn balance sheet

The December WASDE report brought limited changes, but USDA raised its U.S. corn export forecast citing strong global demand. Despite higher exports, the average corn price outlook remained unchanged, according to USDA World Agricultural Outlook Board Chair Mark Jekanowski.

The December WASDE report is typically a quiet report that is moved on from quickly. USDA published the monthly report on Monday and while it did not make big waves due to major changes there are some adjustments to make note of.

One of the bigger adjustments was to the corn export forecast due to strong demand for U.S. corn says USDA World Agricultural Outlook Board Chair Mark Jekanowski.

Despite the adjustment to the current crop corn export forecast, Jekanowski says the average price forecast holds steady.
