Farmer burnt alive in maize field

Vijayawada: A 70-year-old farmer Bandarupalli Venkateshwarlu was charred to death while burning the wastage in his maize crop field on Thursday at Satuluru village in Nadendla mandal of Palnadu district. Police said after harvesting and selling the crop, he decided to burn the remaining wastages in the farm.
Suddenly, he realized that the fire was spreading to his brother’s farm which was adjacent. While trying to stop that from happening, he fell on the ground and his clothes caught fire. Shepherds present at the spot tried to save him but the fire had already claimed him.TNN
