Fiji : Co-op commends mechanised farming
Noa Kautoga, president of the Varavu Farmers’ Co-operative, emphasized the importance of modern machinery in enhancing sugarcane production. After receiving a farm mechanisation grant from Minister Charan Jeath Singh in Ba, Kautoga expressed gratitude for the support, stating that the machinery would boost productivity and provide new opportunities. He pledged to fully utilize the equipment for future generations.
Varavu Farmers’ Co-operative president Noa Kautoga says having access to modern machinery is crucial in the sugarcane sector.
Mr Kautoga was a recipient of the farm mechanisation grant from the Minister for Sugar, Charan Jeath Singh in Ba on Wednesday.
“The machine you have provided are not just tools, they represent opportunities and will allow our farmers to increase sugarcane production,” Mr Kautoga said.
“Your support motivates us as members of the cooperative and reminds us that we are not alone in this journey.
“As we move forward, we promise to make the most with your generous contribution and we will work tirelessly to ensure that those machines are utilized to their fullest potential.
“In today’s fast paced agriculture landscape having access to modern machinery is crucial.”
Mr Kautoga said the cooperative had a common purpose of cultivating the land to improve the lives of families and future generations.
