Fiji : Sugar cane farmers get funding to stay in the industry
The Ministry of Sugar announced that 61 sugarcane farmers received government assistance this week. Forty-eight farmers were granted support to start farming, while 13 received help for lease renewals. The Ministry emphasized that the Coalition Government remains committed to Fiji’s sugar industry, stating that this investment will ensure farmers have the resources to succeed and contribute to economic growth.
Sixty-one sugar cane farmers have received government assistance this week, the Ministry of Sugar has announced.

The Ministry states the Coalition Government continues to stand with Fiji’s sugarcane farmers.
A statement from the Ministry added the assistance to the 61 farmers is a direct investment in the future of Fiji’s sugar industry.
“The Coalition Government is delivering real support to farmers, ensuring they have the resources to succeed,” said the Ministry.
“With the right leadership, our farmers will thrive, and our economy will grow. We will not leave anyone behind.”
