From IMFA’s ethanol plant, BPCL’s bio-fuel plant to integrated ship recycling industry in Odisha to create over 24,100 jobs

The Odisha government has approved 31 projects worth ₹4,954.26 crore, expected to generate 24,162 jobs, across various sectors. Key approvals include Neptunus Ship Builders and Recyclers Pvt. Ltd.’s integrated ship recycling industry with an investment of ₹934.54 crore, creating 11,536 jobs. Indian Metals & Ferro Alloys (IMFA) will establish a grain-based ethanol plant in Rayagada for ₹139.90 crore, generating 135 jobs.

The Odisha government on Tuesday approved 31 projects worth Rs 4,954.26 crore across various sectors. These projects are expected to generate 24,162 job opportunities. The approval was given at the State Level Single Window Clearance Authority meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja.

As per the Odisha government, Neptunus Ship Builders and Recyclers Private Limited will establish an integrated ship recycling industry with an investment of Rs 934.54 crore. It is expected to create 11,536 jobs. This will be a part of the metal ancillary and downstream sector.

Indian Metals & Ferro Alloys (IMFA) will establish a grain-based ethanol plant in Rayagada with a budget of Rs 139.90 crore. This new project of IMFA is expected to create 135 job opportunities.

Other Key Projects

Sanyam Tie Up Private Ltd will set up a manufacturing unit for plastic products and recycling in Khordha at an estimated cost of Rs 51 crore and provide 129 jobs.

FM Denim and Twills Pvt. Ltd. is establishing a denim textile and garments manufacturing unit, investing Rs 130 crore and generating 4,500 jobs. Tripathaga Textiles will create a readymade garments manufacturing unit with a budget of Rs 53 crore, providing 1,500 jobs.

In the Bio-fuel sector, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited is investing Rs 200 crores in a compressed biogas and fermented organic manure plant, creating 30 jobs.

Reliance Bio Energy Limited is setting up two plants—one in Sonepur and another in Sambalpur—each with an investment of Rs 121.21 crores, providing 138 jobs.

In the green energy equipment & ESDM sector, Surya International Enterprise Pvt. Ltd. is investing Rs 80.00 crore in manufacturing solar modules and related products. It is expected to create 769 jobs, the state government said in a release.
