Georgia increases imports of Russian wheat
In August this year Georgia imported 46.226 thousand tonnes of Russian wheat (for $10.227 mln), which is more than twice as much as in the previous month, when 20 thousand tonnes of grain (for $4.734 mln) were imported into the country. This is evidenced by the data of Gruzstat, reports Business Georgia.
As for annual figures, 180,517 thousand tonnes of wheat were imported from Russia in January-August this year (for $42.53 mln), which is also more than in the same period of 2023 – 117,907 thousand tonnes (for $32.046 mln).
Another country where Georgia purchased wheat in this year is Austria, although it was a very small volume of 2.31 tonnes.
