Germany expects wheat crop to shrink by at least 13 per cent
According to preliminary estimates of DRV experts, German wheat production in MY 2024/25 is expected to be 13% lower than the result of the season before, namely 18.76 million tonnes, Reuters reports.
As explained, repeated excessive rains during the season have led to a decrease in the grain crop potential.
The country’s total grain production is expected to fall 8% year-on-year to 39.11 million tonnes, the lowest since 2018.
