Haryana minister says farmers should avoid disruptions

Haryana Cooperation Minister Arvind Sharma urged farmers to focus on productivity and government-backed growth initiatives during the sugarcane crushing season launch at Meham Cooperative Sugar Mill. He assured government support and announced trial use of small cranes and harvesters to address labor shortages. MP Ramchandra Jangra praised central and state agricultural policies, highlighting schemes like PM-Kisan and fair compensation for crop losses. Farmers delivering the first sugarcane consignments were honored at the event.

Rohtak: Haryana cooperation minister Arvind Sharma on Thursday asked farmers to refrain from disruptive movements and focus on contributing to the state’s progress. Speaking at the start of sugarcane crushing season at the Meham Cooperative Sugar Mill, Sharma asked farmers to prioritise increasing productivity and aligning with govt initiatives to foster growth. “Govt is committed to resolving their issues and enhancing their income,” he said. Sharma inaugurated crushing season by operating a tractor-trolley loaded with sugarcane, accompanied by Rajya Sabha MP Ramchandra Jangra. Farmers who delivered the first consignment were honoured.Sharma also asked farmers to expand sugarcane cultivation and assured them of steadfast govt support. He announced plans to address labour shortages by introducing small cranes and harvesters at sugar mills on a trial basis. The minister also praised the initiatives of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and chief minister Nayab Singh Saini aimed at uplifting farmers. During the event, MP Ramchandra Jangra commended the central and state govts for their policies.
