Internal paddy, rice collection inaugurated in Nalitabari
Boro season paddy and rice collection begins in Sherpur’s Nalitabari upazila. Inaugurated by upazila nirbahi officer and paddy rice collection committee president. Expected collection: 2,609 metric tons of paddy, 2,517 metric tons of rice. Prices fixed: Tk 32/kg for paddy, Tk 45/kg for rice. Collection period: May 7th to August 31st. Boro season internal paddy and rice collection was inaugurated on Tuesday in Sherpur’s Nalitabari upazila.
In the morning, the program was inaugurated by the upazila nirbahi officer and the president of the paddy rice collection and monitoring committee Ilishay Richil.
According to sources, 2,609 metric tons of paddy and 2,517 metric tons of rice will be collected in this upazila during the current Boro season. The price of paddy per kg has been fixed at Tk 32, which is Tk 1,280 per maund. And the price of rice per kg is fixed at Tk 45, which is Tk 1,800 per maund.
This paddy rice collection will continue from 7th May to 31st August. The process of registration, application and lottery selection of farmers will be completed through apps under the paddy rice collection program. All activities including subsequent bill payments will be completed online.
Among others, Nalitabari Upazila Awami League General Secretary Waj Kuruni, Awami League Central Sub-Committee Leader Gopal Chandra Sarkar, Upazila Food Controller Atiqur Rahman, Food Warehouse Officer-in-Charge Rezaul Karim, Mill Malik Samiti General Secretary Mahmudur Rahman and were present during the inauguration.
