Jordan buys 60,000 metric tons of wheat in tender

Jordan bought 60,000 metric tons of hard milling wheat from Bulgaria’s Buildcom at $255.50/ton (C&F) for September shipment. Competing offers ranged up to $276. A separate tender for 120,000 tons of barley closes Wednesday.
HAMBURG: Jordan’s state grains buyer purchased about 60,000 metric tons of hard milling wheat to be sourced from optional origins in an international tender on Tuesday, traders said.
It was believed to have been bought from Bulgarian trading house Buildcom at an estimated $255.50 a ton cost and freight included (c&f) for shipment in the second half of September, they said.
Reports reflect assessments from traders and further estimates of prices and volumes are still possible later.
Traders said the following other trading companies participated in Tuesday’s tender, with their offers per ton c&f: CHS $261.90, Cargill $265.90, Al Dahra $276, Ameropa $262.45 and Agrocorp $268.50. No new wheat tender is expected to be issued by Jordan in the next week, traders said.
A separate tender seeking to purchase up to 120,000 tons of animal feed barley closes on Wednesday.
