Karnataka : ‘Clear ethanol procurement bills once in two weeks,’ says Murugesh Nirani
Murugesh Nirani, BJP state vice-president and sugar factory owner, urged the Karnataka government to clear six-month ethanol procurement arrears to prevent factories from falling into debt. He noted that while the central government clears bills within 10 days, the state takes six months. Nirani requested payments every 15 days to ease financial pressure on sugar factories.
Bengaluru: : BJP state vice-president and sugar factory owner Murugesh Nirani on Friday appealed to the state government to expedite the process of clearing the six-month ethanol procurement arrears to the factories in order to prevent sugar factories from getting into a debt trap.
Nirani, along with several sugar factory owners, held a press conference and asserted that the Centre cleared bills within 10 days of ethanol procurement while the state government is taking six months to clear the bills. “Hence, we request the state government to release ethanol procurement bills once in 15 days to ease the burden on sugar factories,” he said.
