Khandesh Maize Market: Maize arrival has started in Khandesh

Jalgaon News : Maize arrival has started in major market committees of Khandesh. Presently the income is low or stagnant and the price per quintal is Rs.1450 to Rs.2000 and the average is Rs.1750. Maize arrivals are expected to increase next week.

In Khandesh, maize was more cultivated in Kharipat cereal. This cultivation was less than pulses. But instead of jowar many people preferred maize. Most of the cultivation was done in Chopra, Yaval, Jamner, Pachora, Dharangaon areas of Jalgaon district. The total cultivation in Khandesh was about 45 thousand hectares.

There is fear of damage to sorghum during heavy rains. Compared to maize, the damage is less. Last year, the return rains caused more damage to other crops except maize. Keeping this in mind, many people planted maize.

This year, American army worm damaged the crop after 26 to 28 days. Farmers had to control this problem by using pesticides, dewormers, hormones, fertilizers.

Maize threshing has started last week. There has been no rain in Khandesh for the past few days. The atmosphere is also fairly dry or clear. Due to this, the maize crop matured and came to the threshing floor. Harvesting and threshing work is also going on without any hindrance due to dry weather. The arrival of maize in the market has started only last week.

The arrival of maize in the markets of Jalgaon, Chopra, Amalner, Shirpur in Dhule, Dondaicha (Shindkheda), Nandurbar in Jalgaon district is going on . In the last four to five days, an average of 160 quintals of maize has been received in the market committee at Chopra. The market committee in Jalgaon has also maintained an average of 180 quintals per day for the last three days.

Further, it is also estimated that this inflow will reach Jalgaon at an average of one thousand quintals per day. 1442 and maximum 2042 and average rate of Rs 1752 per quintal was obtained in market committee of low grade Makyas Chopra. In the Jalgaon market, the minimum price is Rs 1450 and the maximum price is Rs 2050.

It was reported that the rate was not more than Rs 2100 per quintal anywhere. These are starting rates. Buyers have not predicted how many more rates will be available in the future. But experts say that there is a calculation of rates on income.
