Malegaon Sugar Mill: Malegaon accepts the formula of lump sum FRP

The Malegaon Sugar Factory has transferred ₹3132 per tonne to farmers’ accounts for sugarcane crushed between March 1-15, exceeding FRP rates. This follows the Bombay High Court’s ruling mandating lump sum FRP payments. The factory, reducing production costs, aims to provide an additional ₹200 per tonne in June-July, benefiting farmers significantly.

Baramati News: The Malegaon factory administration transferred a lump sum of Rs 3132 per tonne to the bank accounts of the farmers for the payment of sugarcane crushed between ‘March 1 and 15’. This amount of Rs 3132 is more than the FRP (Fair and Economical Price). The order of the Bombay High Court regarding the payment of ‘FRP’ lump sum was accepted by the Malegaon factory for the first time in Maharashtra. It was said that the Swabhimani Shetkari Sanghatana congratulated the board of directors of Malegaon.

The Bombay High Court had on Monday (17) ordered a lump sum payment of FRP to sugarcane farmers. The court had also quashed the state government’s order dated 21 February 2022 to provide FRP in two phases. Against this backdrop, the Malegaon Cooperative Sugar Factory transferred a lump sum payment of Rs 3132 per tonne of sugarcane crushed between 1 and 15 March to the bank accounts of the farmers.

This information was given by President Adv. Keshavrao Jagtap, Vice President Rajendra Dhawan and other directors in a press conference on Monday (24). On this occasion, Directors Tanaji Devkate, Mangesh Jagtap, Madanrao Devkate, Sagar Jadhav, Sanjay Kate, Dattatreya Yele, Pankaj Bhosale, Bansilal Atole, Nishigandh Nikam, Executive Director Ashok Patil, Head of Finance Department Satyawan Jagtap were present.

Adv. Jagtap said that the Malegaon factory reduced the production cost by Rs 234 per ton and gave the members the first place in the state in the state, giving them a final sugarcane price of Rs 3636 last year. In the current season too, the highest advance of Rs 3132 per ton was given to the farmers. It planned to give a Khodki payment of Rs 200 per ton in June to July.
