Manish Kashyap urges reopening of Bihar’s closed sugar mills before 2025 assembly election
Patna: Manish Kashyap, a new BJP member, met Bihar’s Sugarcane Industries Minister Krishnanandan Paswan to advocate for reopening 11 closed sugar mills in Bihar. He urged joint state and central efforts to revive some mills before the 2025 Assembly election, emphasizing potential benefits for farmers and job creation. Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary highlighted Modi government’s commitment to restarting these mills, a key issue in the recent Lok Sabha election with promises for revival.
Patna: Manish Kashyap, a prominent figure from Bihar and a recently joined BJP, met the Krishnanandan Paswan, Minister of Sugarcane Industries, and submitted a memorandum regarding the restart of 11 closed sugar mills in Bihar.
He hoped that the state and the central governments would make combined efforts to reopen some of these mills before the 2025 Assembly election. It would result in greater dependence on cash crops like sugarcane among farmers and generate jobs for the youths of Bihar if the sugar mills were to be reopened.
The Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, Samrat Choudhary, recently said that the Modi government is trying to start the closed sugar mills again.
The closed sugar mills of Bihar were one of the most prominent issues in this recent concluded Lok Sabha election, and commitments were made to reopen the mills within the state.
