Minister appoints new board member for Fiji Sugar Corporation

Kamlesh Sharma, a Ba sugarcane farmer, was appointed to the Fiji Sugar Corporation (FSC) board effective May 5, 2025. Sharma holds qualifications from the University of Punjab, University of the South Pacific, Canberra College of Advanced Education, and Fiji College of Advanced Education. FSC Chairman Nitya Reddy praised his expertise in education, finance, agribusiness, and governance, highlighting his valuable role during FSC’s reform phase.

Ba sugarcane farmer, Kamlesh Sharma has been appointed to the Fiji Sugar Corporation board.

His appointment came into effect on May 5, 2025.

Mr Sharma holds qualifications from the University of Punjab, the University of the South Pacific, Canberra College of Advanced Education, and Fiji College of Advanced Education.

“Mr. Sharma’s background in education, financial management, and agribusiness positions him as a valuable member of the Board as the Corporation faces a critical period of reform and renewal,” said FSC Chairman Nitya Reddy.

“His knowledge of governance, finance, and rural development, paired with hands-on experience as a practising accountant and sugarcane farmer, makes him well qualified to help steer FSC through its current challenges.”
