Minister Khandre orders immediate action on farmer dues from sugar factories
Forest Minister Eshwar B Khandre has warned sugar mills in Bidar district to clear their dues to farmers, with two mills owing Rs 6.58 crore. During a review meeting, Khandre expressed concern over the financial plight of sugarcane cultivators due to pending payments. He ordered instant measures, including attachment and sale of sugar stocks, for recovery of dues from Bidar Kissan Shakkar Karkhana Ltd and Bhalkeshwar Sugar Factory, which have yet to settle their accounts.
Bidar: Forest, Environment, and Ecology Minister Eshwar B Khandre has issued a stern warning to sugar mills in the district that have failed to clear their dues to farmers, reports Deccan Chronicle.
During a review meeting of the Kalyana Karnataka Region Development Board on Saturday, Khandre expressed deep concern over the financial plight of sugarcane cultivators due to pending payments.
