Minister V. K. Singh: Govt Focusing on Liberal Ethanol Regime for Alternative Fuels
Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways General V. K. Singh today said that the government is working towards a more liberal regime to promote the production and sale of ethanol. He added that the need of the hour is to find alternative fuels to replace fossil fuels. General Singh was speaking at the Conference on Fuels of Future 2.0-‘Converging Towards Greener Growth’ organized by ASSOCHAM in New Delhi.
Addressing the conference, General Singh said that sustainability and environmental impact are primary concerns of the government and alternative fuels will ensure air quality in the future. He added that India has made a big push towards electric mobility where lithium-ion has been at the forefront but there is a great amount of research on sodium-ion and finding alternatives to lithium-ion so that we can become independent of the lithium cycle altogether.
