Nagpur police busts fake soybean oil manufacturing factory

A gang selling fake soybean oil under major brands was busted in Hudkeshwar. Police arrested Nilesh Shahu and seized ₹8.5 lakh worth of goods, including fake oil, packing materials, and machines. The operation used counterfeit stickers and cans. A case has been filed under the Copyright and Trademark Acts, and further investigations are ongoing.
A gang manufacturing and selling fake soyabean oil has been busted in Hudkeshwar police station area. The crime branch team raided and arrested the accused Nilesh Shahu. The police have seized goods worth about Rs 8.5 lakh from the accused’s warehouse.
Police had received information that a person named Nitesh Shahu is manufacturing fake oil in the name of famous brands like Kings Soyabean Oil, Ambuja Gold Refined Soyabean Oil and Fortune Refined Soyabean Oil and supplying it in the market in the name of edible oil of branded companies in a factory located at Peepla Phata Outer Ring Road.
The team of Crime Branch Unit 4 found during the investigation that the accused is making cans exactly like the original brands with the help of fake stickers, lids, packing material and machines and is preparing fake edible oil and selling it in the market. After this information, this factory was raided. During the action, the police recovered fake products of many brands including Kings Soyabean Oil, Ambuja Gold Refined Soyabean Oil and Fortune Refined Soyabean Oil. Apart from this, packing machine, electric pump, weighing scale and a four-wheeler were also seized, during this action the police recovered goods worth about eight and a half lakh rupees.
The police have registered a case against the accused under the Copyright Act and Trademark Act. After medical examination, the accused has been handed over to Hudkeshwar Police Station for further legal action. The police is now looking for more possible accused in this case.
