Nano Technology to Boost Sugarcane Yield in Nippani

The Halasiddhanath Cooperative Sugar Factory in Belagavi is adopting nanotechnology to enhance sugarcane productivity, reduce cultivation costs, and optimize land usage ¹. This initiative will provide farmers with access to nanotechnology facilities and support the industry despite financial challenges. Additionally, the factory is preparing to process 8,500 tonnes of sugarcane daily in the upcoming season and offering discounted drone spraying services for farmers.

Belagavi : Farmers in the region are set to benefit from the adoption of nanotechnology by the local Halasiddhanath Cooperative Sugar Factory (Bahurajya). Former MP Annasaheb Jolle announced this groundbreaking initiative, stating that the technology will enhance sugarcane productivity, reduce cultivation costs, and optimise land usage. The factory will also provide farmers and members with access to various nanotechnology facilities.

Jolle was speaking at the inauguration of a drone spraying service organised by the Vedaganga Farmers Producers Union and Halasiddhanath Cooperative Sugar Factory in Sanyuktashray on Monday. He highlighted the factory’s efforts to support both farmers and the industry, despite financial challenges. The factory’s ethanol production has been crucial in maintaining operations and ensuring the timely payment of labour wages. Preparations are underway to process 8,500 tonnes of sugarcane daily in the upcoming season.

Ad Factory President Malagonda Patila announced discounted drone spraying services for farmers, while Agriculture Officer Manjunath Kittur pledged the department’s support for the factory’s agricultural initiatives. The event included a drone spraying demonstration and was attended by several dignitaries.
