NexGen Energia plans Rs 15,000 crore investment to open 5,000 green diesel, CBG pumps in India
Noida: NexGen Energia, a green energy solutions firm, unveiled plans to invest Rs 15,000 crore in establishing 5,000 green diesel and compressed biogas (CBG) pumps across India over the next decade. Each pump, requiring about Rs 3 crore, aims to boost clean fuel accessibility and create 5,000 new entrepreneurs while generating employment for over 10 lakh people. This initiative seeks to bolster India’s self-reliance in green energy and cut fuel imports by approximately 30%.
NexGen Energia, a green energy solutions company, plans to invest Rs 15,000 crore to establish 5,000 green diesel and compressed biogas (CBG) pumps across India over the next 10 years.
The Noida-based company recently launched its first CBG pump in Mau district, Uttar Pradesh, marking its entry into executing engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services in the clean energy sector.
“Our commitment to clean energy extends well beyond this initial pump. We intend to roll out a total of 5,000 green diesel and CBG pumps nationwide in multiple phases over the next 10 years, with each pump requiring an investment of approximately Rs 3 crore. This represents a total investment of Rs 15,000 crore in the green energy sector,” stated Piyush Dwivedi, Chairman of NexGen Energia, in an interview with PTI.
“In addition to expanding access to clean fuel, this initiative aims to create about 5,000 new entrepreneurs and provide direct and indirect employment to over 10 lakh people. Our objective is to enhance India’s self-reliance in the green energy domain, thereby reducing fuel imports by around 30%,” Dwivedi emphasized.
He highlighted that the company’s vision goes beyond fuel provision, focusing on building a robust infrastructure to support sustainable transportation in India.
“This significant expansion is expected to attract substantial investments into the Indian economy, fostering significant economic growth,” the Chairman added.
