No rise in edible oil prices ahead of Eid despite dollar hike: State Minister Titu
Commerce Minister Ahsanul Islam Titu assured that despite the US dollar’s rise from Tk 110 to Tk 117, edible oil prices won’t surge ahead of Eid-al-Adha. Titu’s statement followed a Cabinet Committee meeting, emphasizing no immediate price hike despite currency fluctuations. Consumers can expect stability in edible oil costs, ensuring affordability during the upcoming festival.
The prices of edible oil will not be raised ahead of Eid-al-Adha despite an increase in the value of the US dollar against the local currency, Commerce Minister Ahsanul Islam Titu has said.
“Though the prices of the US dollar has been increased from Tk 110 to Tk 117, it will not lead to a corresponding increase in the prices of edible oil ahead of the upcoming Eid al-Adha,” he told reporters at his office following a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Government Purchases at the Secretariat on Tuesday.
