Aragon is the chosen engineering partner for the project.

Greenstat, a renewable energy firm, has commenced construction on its 20 MW green hydrogen production facility at Fiskå in Rogaland county, Norway. This new plant is a key component of the Agder Hydrogen Hub in Kristiansand, which Greenstat is optimistic about. The facility is expected to be completed within two years.

The company aims to provide green hydrogen to meet demand from the maritime, heavy transport, and construction machinery sectors in the region by 2026.

This project represents the first phase of Greenstat’s hydrogen hub plans for Kristiansand. Construction for the second phase, which could potentially add another 40 MW of capacity, has already started, according to media reports.

Greenstat acquired the project from Danish firm Everfuel in February and has since signed a lease agreement with Elkem for the land use.

Previously, Greenstat and Everfuel announced that Letters of Intent (LoI) for the supply of approximately 8,000 tonnes of compressed hydrogen annually have been signed with companies such as Holland-Norway Lines, FFS Marine, and Arrive Shipping.

The Norwegian hydrogen hub project targets the maritime sector along the Norwegian coast. Greenstat has selected Aragon as the engineering partner to assist with the final design, equipment selection, and service suppliers for the plant.
