Over 2 mln tons of Ukrainian grain exported by sea in March
Ukraine’s port logistics remain grain-dominated, with 2.18 million tonnes moved in March (25 days), over 90% being grain. Key flows passed through Black Sea ports, while processed products lagged. Rail movement and Danube activity declined, signaling slower logistics despite year-on-year growth in grain volumes.
For 25 days of March, the total volume of agricultural products transported to seaports amounted to about 2.18 million tons, of which 2.08 million tons were grain. The share of grain exceeds 90%, while processed products form about 10%.
This was reported by analysts at Spike Brokers.
In the grain segment, transportation to ports amounted to 2.08 million tons (+350 thousand tons y/y). The main volumes are concentrated through Chornomorsk-Port-Export (830.4 thousand tons), Chornomorsk (424.1 thousand tons) and Odesa-Port (406.9 thousand tons).
Processed products remain secondary in port logistics: transportation of oil is about 51 thousand tons, meals – 47 thousand tons, inferior to land exports. The average daily unloading in the ports of Greater Odessa is 1,274 t/day (-3 t/t), the average daily loading in the direction of the ports is 1,233 t/day (-42). The number of wagons in motion to the ports has decreased to 8,447 (-1,174).
The Danube direction remains limited: 87 wagons in motion (-48), the average daily unloading is 22 t/day (-5), which reflects a decrease in intensity compared to the previous week.
