Over 28k cr for wheat procurement in Punjab : BJP


The BJP-led central government has approved a cash credit limit (CCL) of ₹28,894 crore for wheat procurement in Punjab ahead of the crop’s arrival in mandis. Punjab BJP spokesperson Pritpal Singh Baliawal expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for this initiative and urged the state government to ensure that wheat is lifted within 24 hours and farmers receive prompt payments.
Chandigarh: Stating that the BJP-led Centre had released a cash credit limit to the tune of Rs 28,894 crore for wheat procurement even before arrival of the crop in mandis, Punjab BJP spokesperson Pritpal Singh Baliawal on Sunday said the produce must be procured within 24 hours and payments to the farmers should be made without delay.
In a post on X, Baliawal stated: “Even before the arrival of the wheat crop in mandis, the BJP-led Modi govt released Rs 28,894 crore under the cash credit limit (CCL), ensuring smooth procurement for farmers.”
Baliawal then extended “heartfelt gratitude” to PM Narendra Modi.
He then urged Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann and AAP Punjab to ensure that “the mismanagement and harassment faced by our farmers during paddy procurement are not repeated this time”. “Every single grain of wheat must be lifted from mandis within 24 hours, and farmers should receive their payments directly in their accounts without delay,” he said.
