Over 30 booked for violent stir against ethanol firm in T
Hyderabad: Five cases were registered against residents of Dilawarpur and Gundampally villages in Nirmal district for staging a violent protest against a proposed ethanol factory being built in their villages on Wednesday. So far, no arrests have been made and police are in the process of identifying the accused.
Among the five cases, two cases were booked based on complaints lodged by police personnel and remaining three on the complaints of the ethanol manufacturing unit workers and representatives.

The first case was registered based on the complaint of K Sandeep Kumar, director PMK Distillation Pvt Ltd. Sandeep alleged that at 11am on Wednesday, B Muthyam, K Rohith, N Vinod, G Rakesh, Shivram,Jeevan, K Vijay, A Ramana, K Sagar and Srinivas along with others trespassed into their ethanol factory with sticks and iron rods. “They caused damage to the boundary wall. When our employees, Ram Kirna and Udya, objected to their mischief. The accused attacked them with iron rods. Ram Kiran received a bleeding injury on his back and Udya suffered injuries on head,” the complainant alleged. In all, Sandeep named 32 persons from Dilawarpur in the complaint.
The second case was registered on the complaint of ethanol company employee B Uday, who also named the same accused from Dilawarpur, for trespassing into the company and damaging company property including, kitchen, furniture, CCTV cameras. “They forced the labourers away from the sit. When Narayana Reddy, Erukalaiah and I objected, they attacked us and we suffered injuries,” Uday alleged. The third case was registered on the complaint of Y Chandrasekhar, accountant of PSK Infra and Projects Pvt Ltd, against V Santhosh, S Gangadhar, T Ramakanth, Mahipal Reddy, Gangadhar and village development committee members for setting ablaze a four-wheeler of the company and causing a loss of 21 lakh. Two more cases were registered on complaints lodged by Special Branch head constable L Jeevan Rao and constable J Shankar Rao against members of two villages for assaulting and damaging theircell phones.
