Over K595m has been paid out to farmers – FRA

THE Food Reserve Agency (FRA) says it has paid out K595,945,280 to farmers that delivered Grade A white maize during the ongoing crop marketing season. And Small Scale Farmers Development Agency (SAFADA) Director Boyd Moobwe has encouraged the agency to buy enough maize to mitigate expected shortages in the near future. In a statement, Wednesday, FRA Public Relations Coordinator John Chipandwe said the agency has so far purchased 146,948.50 metric tonnes of maize as at July 25.
